A postgraduate study that I would like to do

I would like to study cinema studies, audiovisual communication or something like that, because I think it could be a powerful tool completers to my career as a social worker, in the like to make visible and denounce situations of injustice, and also to share experiences in other places of the world and ideas about social change, social work, politics, etc. I would like to study this program in person and full time; it doesn’t matter to me if I have to study 4 o 5 years more, because I would like to be a pro in this. I would study in Argentina because they have a long tradition in this area, very good schools, the education is public and free and I like very much this country, so I’ think I would be very comfortable there.  I still don't know in which university or school I would like to study, but I understand that there are several very good. Currently the country situation is not the best but I’m certain that Alberto Fernandez will win the election and he will stop

My future job

Image
Hello everyone! Today I will share a couple of thoughts about my future job I don’t think very much in this question about what kind of job I would like, because I think the most important is to have a good approach to understand the society and the history, and then you can work in anything you like, in any place, with every type of persons, either children, older adults, women, communities, cases, etc. it doesn’t matter if you are in a school, in a hospital, in a jail, etc., the most important thing is to be clear from where you position yourself theoretically, you have to know what is your approach, from where you are talking, thinking, looking, evaluating, intervening like a social worker. However, I like very much the public policy. I think Chile is in debt with its citizens because the public policies are deficient in a lot of areas and in a lot of senses. And I think we can do a lot and we have to change them, to make them fairer, more equal, more efficiency

Hello everyone! This time I will write about the best vacation I have ever had. Maybe the story can be a little sad, because it reminds me of the ex-girlfriend I traveled with that time. The trip did not go far, it was a gift she gave me for my birthday. We travel to La Serena for a long weekend where one of her friends, who lived with her partner and her dog in a apartment. Then we go on tour to the Elqui Valley and surroundings. I remember that we had a great time and we went to very beautiful places, such as the Puclaro reservoir, Vicuña, Diaguitas and Pisco Elqui. Puclaro reservoir Because of our passion for beer, we got to know the Guayacán brewery in Diaguitas. It was a great experience to know its processes and of course to taste that delicious beer. At the end of our tour of the valley we reach Pisco Elqui, a small town but with a lot of history and a lot of tourist attraction. We met the cathedral, we toured the craft fair and we ate a pizza that, wow, was delici

1st post: A country I would like to visit

Image
Hello everyone! Today I'm going to write about a country I would like to visit.  I would like to travel to Argentina, specifically to Buenos Aires because I feel very attracted its culture and its history, and also to visit a my friend Camila who left Chile a long time ago.  Through my political militancy over the years I have been able to meet great people in that country who have told me how they live there and have taught me more about their history. Also, for my own interest I have read a lot about the transition to democracy in Argentina, the biography of some presidents like Raul Alfonsín and the history of some of their parties. So I think that the only thing I really need to continue knowing them is to go there for a few weeks. Raùl alfonsín in Plaza de  Mayo I want to go to “la boca” neighborhood and see a soccer match in the stadium. Also I want to visit Recoleta graveyard because I love its history, its gardens and arquitecture, and go to party to  the bohem

A movie that I like and a movie that I hate

Image
Hello class, today I'm going to write about a movie that I like and a movie that I hate.  For this purpose, I chose two comedies.  One the one hand, one of the movies that has made me laugh the most in life:  "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest". If you wanna laugh, you have to see it! The film it's american comedy-drama about a mental institution in Oregon. Starring by Jack Nickolson, the movie show a recidivit criminal called Randle McMurphy, that was transferred to an mental institution after serving a few months on a prison farm. Since he arrive, he start a revolution in the asylum, bringing joy and a little freedom to this place and the others patients. What I like about this film is it critical view about western society, democracy, mental illness, mental institutions, psiquiatry, and other topics.  On the other hand, one movie that I hate is "policías en acción". When this movie was released, I remember we went to see it to the ci

Spiral orchards

Image
Hello class, today i'm going to write about this picture and its story. It was in september of the past year, when we do a workshop about spiral orchards in our school (FACSO). The orchards of this type, as the name implies, are built following the spiral pattern, which is one of the patterns with which "builds" the nature. The spiral garden technique allows the coexistence of different species, usually in a small piece of land, but it can also be in large swaths of land, in which we can combine different species of plants that, in other conditions, for reasons of needs of soil, sun, shade, drainage, etc, could not coexist. I remember that day with a special feeling for several reasons. First, because the workshop had a good reception in the FACSO community, convoking professors, students, workers and people from outside the university. Secondly, because we could learn a bit more about nature, connecting with the earth and with our own inner nature. Finally, this ty

My favourite piece of technology

According wikipedia, "a bicycle, also called a cycle or bike, is is a human-powered, pedal-driven, single- track vehicle, having two wheels attached to a frame, one behind the other. " For me, it is one of the technologies I love the most!  I remember perfectly when it came to me. It was for my 22° birthday when my dad decided to give it to me. And from there I did not get off until - here comes the sad part - I was spoiled a few months ago and since then I have not been able to use it. When I was good, I used it every day to transport myself to and from university. I also used it to recreate myself, to go see my friends, to do any kind of paperwork, etc.   I like bicycicle and I have chosen it as my preferred technology for three reasons: First, because I have a good time riding a bicycle and it helps me to channel and keep my energy moving. Secondly, because I exercise and that way I keep in shape. And, thirdly, because it is an ecological and efficient means of tr
